Mary Fedden (1915-2012) was a British painter. Her unique manner mixes modernism and naive art styles and her work her instantly recogisable and highly collected. She was married to fellow artist Julian Trevelyan who is the subject of many of her works. She was elected to the RA in 1992 and awarded an OBE for service to the arts. She was the head of the Royal West of England Academy (RWA) until 1988.
Fedden painted oils as well as gouache on paper. These are perhaps her most well known mediums. She is known to have favoured rough Indian paper for her gouache work. This creates pieces with dense areas of bright colour and beuatiful textural variations. No coa.
