Biography of Francisco Rafael Segura y Monforte (Barcelona, 1875 - 1954)
Drawer and painter. He studied in Valencia (Sant Carlos) and later in Barcelona (Lonja) and Madrid (San Fernando). He was a disciple of Sorolla and, above all, of Marcelino de Unzeta. resided for some time in Madrid. He was professor of drawing at the Grutas Institute in Barcelona and teacher at the Normal School. He exhibited individually in Barcelona (1912, 1918, 1933 and, posthumously, 1959 and 1975), in the Basque country (1917 and 1918) and in Girona (1932). he made a completely nineteenth-century anecdote and excelled in military and horse issues, landscapes and urban issues. Its coloured notes of extraordinary vivacity stand out especially. The artillery museums of Madrid and Zaragoza acquired works for him.
